I've been looking at the schematic of the NanoCore12Max and of the docking module the NanoCore is plugged into.  Both seem to generate their own Vcc (5V) and they seem to be connected in parallel on pin 37 of the NanoCore.  Isn't this a bad idea (2 regulated outputs in parallel), since each regulator has internal feedback?

Hi Daniel,

For reference, the schematic for this configuration can be found here:  http://support.technologicalarts.ca/docs/NanoCore12/Schematics/9S12CDM3-NC12MAX.pdf

Note that jumper W1 must be removed.  When used with the Docking Module or School Board, the NanoCore modules are powered by the external regulator, via the module's Vcc pin.  The Vin pin must be left unconnected.  In this configuration, the small regulator on the module is not used.  Other configurations are possible (e.g. removing W2 and inserting W1 will activate the NanoCore regulator instead).
